BAARG's WCC 2024 Results

BAARG is having a fantastic year so far. We have already hosted five Angora specialties, more than
ever before. Although we will slow down during the summer months, we are already planning a few more
shows for the upcoming fall. We have seen many Angora veterans return to the show tables, along with an
influx of new participants. The future looks bright, and we are eagerly filling our nest boxes and gaining
momentum for future shows.

I have seen numerous Angora BIS winners awarded in local open shows. This is a true testament to the
dedication and passion for quality among our breeders.
The West Coast Classic in Reno, NV, hosted by the California Rabbit and Cavy Shows, was a huge success.
Not only did an English Angora owned by Aundra Evans win the Best of the Best, but Fluffies also swept
all of the shows. There were three open all-breed shows, two Angora specialties, plus the War of the Wools
show.

At the end of the day on Sunday, all the BIS rabbits from the open shows, youth shows, and specialty shows
competed for the title of "Best of the Best." The winner was the English Angora shown by Andrea Evans.

🏆 Friday Night BAARG Specialty BISS  winner: French Angora shown by Carolyn Silvas.
Judge: Wendy Lange.

🏆 Saturday BAARG Specialty BISS winner: English Angora shown by Aundra Evans.

🏆 Saturday Open Show A BIS winner: French Angora shown by Deidra MacKimmie.
Judges: Jeremy Collins and Zack Newman.

🏆 Sunday Open Show B BIS winner: English Angora shown by Andrea Evans, with Kathy Thomas
standing in. Judges: Scott Rodriguez and Ethan Weaver.

🏆 War of the Wools Specialty BISS winner: American Fuzzy Lop shown by Linda Hibbert.

🏆 Sunday Open Show C RIS winner: American Fuzzy Lop shown by Linda Hibbert.

Not only did the Angoras have a terrific weekend on the show table, but we were also thrilled with the
turnout for the WSG contest. The display attracted many people, including those not involved with rabbits,
showcasing the unique and valuable qualities of our Angoras.

The Blown Away Angora Rabbit Guild recently held their first and highly anticipated annual competition,
and the results are in! This year's event showcased an impressive array of entries, highlighting the best in
Angora rabbit wool, handspun skeins, and garments.

We are not only planning our next WSG Contest for next year's WCC but also preparing to host another
WSG Contest in the fall. Our goal is to host two WSG Contests a year. So, keep crafting and sorting your
best wool samples and fleeces. More information will be posted in BAARG’s Facebook Group.
Stay tuned and keep those crafting skills sharp!
