Building a Stronger, More United BAARG Community

The Blown Away Angora Rabbit Guild (BAARG) is filled with passionate and dedicated members who share a deep love for Angora rabbits. We all know the unique challenges and joys that come with caring for and showcasing these exceptional animals. While our passion drives us, it can sometimes lead to personal conflicts within our community. This can create tensions that, if left unchecked, may hinder our collective growth and harmony.

Over the years, we’ve seen how the ease of filing grievances has overshadowed the importance of open communication. This approach often prevents us from addressing our issues constructively, leading to outcomes that rarely strengthen our community. Some members have lost interest in the guild, while others have faced more severe consequences, creating deeper divisions within our Angora family.

It’s time for a change. I believe we need to focus on dialogue and mutual understanding, making official grievances a last resort rather than the first step. Our love for Angora rabbits and the experiences we share—from showing to the wool industry and creative pursuits—should be the foundation of a supportive and collaborative community. We need to remember that our strength lies in working together, sharing knowledge, and supporting each other.

As we prepare for new leadership within BAARG, it’s crucial that we create a positive and inclusive environment. Our guild’s strong constitution and bylaws provide us with a solid foundation, but we lack a clear path for addressing potential conflicts constructively.

To bridge this gap, BAARG is implementing a mediation process.  The "Kindness Crew Toolkit", is not only clear and concise; it is also simple, easily shareable, and ready to implement immediately.  This Kindness Crew process will encourage members to resolve conflicts through dialogue and understanding before escalating to formal grievances. By doing so, we can reduce unnecessary tensions and foster a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.

Moreover, the skills we develop through our mediation and communication efforts within BAARG will extend far beyond our guild. By honing these abilities, we equip ourselves to handle conflicts and foster understanding in various areas of our lives—from managing family dynamics to addressing potential issues with other rabbit groups or individuals. These skills are invaluable, not just within our Angora community, but in all our interactions, helping us build stronger, more positive relationships everywhere we go.

Implementing these changes will take time, but by committing to these principles now, we can shape a future where BAARG is known as a community of passionate, caring Angora breeders who resolve their differences and work together as a team.

As we look to the future, let’s strive to be remembered as a guild that values harmony, support, and collaboration. Together, we can create an environment where our passions lead to both success and unity.

We need your feedback and help in implementing this Kindness Crew mediation process. Your insights and experiences are essential as we work towards a more harmonious future for BAARG. Please share your thoughts and suggestions to help us build a better, more united Angora community. Let’s work together to make BAARG a guild we are all proud of and excited to share with the next generation.

To support this initiative, I encourage everyone to sign up for the training and receive their Kindness Crew Toolkit. This toolkit is designed to equip you with practical resources and strategies to promote kindness, understanding, and effective communication within our guild and beyond. Together, let's make BAARG a guild where kindness and collaboration are at the forefront of everything we do.
