Can I mail my entries to the contest secretary?

It depends upon the individual contest.  Please read the Contest’s catalog, and if you have any questions, contact the contest secretary.

Currently the National Angora Contests and the Conventions Contests are only allowing in person entries only.  Although if you cannot attend, you can send your entries with a friend that is attending the ARBA Convention.  Just have your paperwork done & your entries paid beforehand.

Please review the contest rules for specifics.

The basic process is the same as if you are entering a rabbit in the ARBA Convention, and you cannot attend in person.  You can arrange with a friend to transport your rabbit for you, you can also arrange transport for your WSG Contest Entries.

Can I enter the contest using commercial bought Angora yarn?

Absolutely!  But first please take time to review the Contest Rules.
All skeins must be handspun.  Garments can be constructed with handspun yarn or commercial spun Angora yarn.  All entries must contain a minimum of 50% Angora.

I have a handspun Angora yarn, how do I determine the WPI?

To calculate the wraps per inch (WPI), simply wrap the yarn around a pencil or knitting needles. Don't wrap too tightly, just provide the normal slack you would if you were knitting. Wrap the yarn for approximately 3-4” along the pencil/needle. Use a ruler and count the number of wraps per inch.
